Welcome!

Welcome to Holy Cross Catholic Church, Our Parish is located in D’Hanis, TX., Medina County, in the Archdiocese of San Antonio, TX.  Our parishioners reflect the evolution of our community; descendants of the original Alsatian settlers of D’Hanis which was founded in 1847; a Hispanic community descended from original Texas settlers who were in this area before Texas was a state and some that came later; and a growing population of newer arrivals that enjoy our small town, community atmosphere.

We also serve Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Yancey, Medina County, as a mission parish.

We are a parish heavily focused on the Sacraments and sacramental life, and many of the activities of our parish revolve around the Sacraments.  We value the traditional and yet accept the new, hoping that all members find our faith strengthening celebrations of the Holy Mass fulfilling.

We have a vibrant Faith Formation program and many different youth activities dedicated to building our young people’s faith and fostering participation in parish life and the life of the church.  These include an active CYO program which schedules many activities during the year to build the faith and community spirit of our youth, and other youth programs to celebrate the Liturgical feasts of the church such as Easter and the Nativity of our Lord.

Our parish also partners with our neighboring parish in Hondo (St. John’s) in sponsoring an active ACTS retreat program for men, ladies, and youth.

It is here in this Holy Place, that we are strengthened by the Sacraments, inspired by the word of God and united in tradition. We strive to inspire, nurture, and renew our Catholic Faith, with our dedication to Sacred Liturgy, uplifting music, thoughtful and inspiring preaching, and passionate ministry through which we become the Body of Christ.

We extend a special welcome to Catholics who have been away from the Church and who have not been practicing their faith. We also wish to welcome anyone considering joining the Catholic faith to attend Mass and contact us regards joining our parish.  Please consider making Holy Cross Parish your church home. We are here to serve you and your family members.  We welcome you to join us at any time and we pray that our website and our parish will be a true blessing to you and your loved ones.
